FAQs

What is the difference in the colors of the finishing and polishing cups and points?

This is a two-step polishing system. Medium grit (green color) diamond impregnated finishing cups and points for initial refining. UltraFine grit (blue color) diamond impregnated polishing cups and points for a final ultra-high gloss polish.

Do these cups and points snap on to mandrels?

No, these are uniquely engineered cups and points with an extra-resistant plastic mandrel included.

What makes these cups and points uniquely engineered?

They are highly-loaded with ultrafine diamonds. They are designed to be flexible and yet structurally stable cup/point forms which retain their shapes even for complete fissure polishing. They enables anatomical polishing of all concave/convex surfaces. You get a superior gloss effect with minimal surface roughness.

Are these cups and points disposable?

No, they are meant to be autoclavable and reusable.

Can these cups and points be used with high-speed handpieces?

No, it is recommended to use these polishers at low-speeds (between 8,000 and 20,000 rpm maximum) in handpieces. Higher speeds will cause more rapid deterioration of Polishers and rougher surfaces.

How-To's

1Use Couture Polishers on composite restorations after pre-polishing with rotary diamond instruments (15 μm yellow).

2Medium (green) Polishers enable easy shaping and well prepared surfaces.

3UltraFine (blue) Polishers enable final, ultra-high gloss surfaces, bringing out the maximum esthetics of any composite material.

4Use copious water spray during the entire procedure (minimum 50 mL/min).

5Apply light force to instruments, not exceeding 0.5 lbs (2N) of pressure.

6Use slow speeds between 8,000 and 20,000 rpm maximum (note: higher speeds will cause more rapid deterioration of Polisher and rougher surfaces).
